It’s time to Adopt-a-Block once again in the Town of Yarmouth.
Starting today, the Communities in Bloom committee is encouraging citizens to get together and tidy up areas of Yarmouth.
It’s about finding areas of interest to you, and forming a group to help clean up litter.
Chair Heather Hatfield says they are partnering with Waste Check on this.
“Just call them and let them know what area you’re going to cleanup. They will put it into their provincial database. It will help them keep track of what’s happening in Yarmouth.”
The program runs until May 15th, but Hatfield encourages citizens to keep on with the initiative through the summer months too.
To register, call the Waste Check office, they’ll also have bags, gloves and pick up sticks available. 902-742-1312.
