It was a year that felt at least two years long. We’ve been talking about Christmas for more than a month now – in some cases longer than that. And now it’s just a week away.
And somehow it seemed to sneak up on me.
It’s like this every year for me. There’s this “I know it’s coming” anticipation, then there’s the decorating, and then, things get really busy. I shop when I can. I put sh….stuff off.
And then, it’s a week away.
Actually, it’s not that bad this year. A few stocking stuffers, some wrapping, some last minute grocery shopping, and we’ll be there.
But…being ready for Christmas, to me, is more than that. It’s about being in the Christmas spirit. That special feeling you get as it’s gets closer. I think right now, although it has begun, it’s not quite here yet. Not quite, for me anyway.
