I’m a dog guy. I admit it freely. I’ve had dogs pretty much my whole life.
Right now my constant companion is a tiny little thing named Pepper Potts. Maybe you’ve seen the pictures on my Facebook and Instagram accounts. I’ve been known to post the odd picture here and there…daily….(ahem)
So anyway. Trust me when I tell you that dogs are pretty great communicators. pepper understands pretty much everything I tell her, and she’s pretty good at making herself understood. I’ve often said she can practically talk.
And as it turns out……
That dog is Stella, and Stella is owned by A speech-language pathologist Christina Hunger. Christina came up with a series of buttons to help Stella communicate not only words but her thoughts and feelings too.
Stella tells Christina things – like that she’s tired after playing, or hungry, or wants to go to the park.
This is from an interview with Yahoo Entertainment: ”
One day, the pup was whining at the front door and started pacing back and forth. Hunger assumed that she needed to go outside. Instead, Stella walked to her device and tapped out, “Want,” “Jake” “Come” then stood in front of the door until Hunger’s fiancé, Jake, came home a few minutes later and then Stella immediately pressed “Happy” and rolled over for a belly rub.”
“I’m in constant amazement and shock,” Hunger tells PEOPLE. “Every day she says something cooler than she said the day before.”
How cool is that??
