The Regional Director General Department of Fisheries and Oceans, Maritimes Region, has issued an order to stop shellfish harvesting in Shelburne and Yarmouth counties.
Contaminated Fisheries Prohibition Order No. MSN-2019-303 closes all waters within 3 km of the coastline and islands of Yarmouth and Shelburne Counties to fishing for all species of clams, quahaugs, mussels, oysters, all whelks and bay scallops.
