A new attraction for visitors to downtown Yarmouth.
On Main Street in front of Frost Park, a Maud Lewis photo booth has been put in place.
It’s sponsored by the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, and the backdrop looks like one of her famous paintings.
Mayor Pam Mood says it adds another fun element to the downtown for visitors.
“The kids love it. Actually, I’ve seen more adults than kids in it. It’s lots of fun. There’s a really rich history of Maud Lewis from one end of Yarmouth County to the other.”
Maud Lewis was a folk artist who grew up in Yarmouth and Digby.
Her paintings and artwork have been recognized across Canada and the world.
Her popularity rose again with the release of the film “Maudie” in 2016 about her life.
