Last summer’s Congres Mondial Acadien has won an East Coast Music Award.
The event in Yarmouth, Argyle and Clare received the ‘Event of the Year’ award during ECMA week in St. John’s, Newfoundland.
The Congres brought thousands of Acadians together last August, a large concert was held at the Yarmouth Airport on National Acadian Day.
Then-Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre joined hundreds marching through the streets of Yarmouth before the concert.
