Madonna – She and Elton John have “finally buried the hatchet” after being at odds for decades. When she went backstage following his “SNL” performance, John reportedly asked for her forgiveness — and she gave it. Elton John, Chicago and Tracy Chapman – are among the artists whose recordings have been chosen by the Library of Congress for preservation in the National Recording Registry. John’s album “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”, will be so-honored, as will Chicago’s debut “Chicago Transit Authority”, and Chapman’s self-titled debut. Also on the list for this year are Steve Miller Band’s “Fly Like an Eagle” album, Celine Dion’s song ‘My Heart Will Go On’, and others.
Tracy Chapman – is belatedly celebrating the 35th anniversary of her self-titled debut album by re-releasing it on vinyl. The usually reclusive singer last returned to the limelight at the 2024 Grammys to perform her hit ‘Fast Car’ with Luke Combs, who had a monster hit with his country cover version.
Eagles — have announced what is being billed as the “final” shows for 2025 of the band’s residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas. They’ve booked 8 concerts there this fall, starting Friday, Oct. 3. Metallica – A teaser trailer has been released for “Metallica Saved My Life”, a new documentary film celebrating the bond longtime fans have with the band. Weezer — bassist Scott Shriner’s wife, Jillian Lauren-Shriner, was undergoing treatment for cancer when she was shot by cops in an altercation near the couple’s LA home. March 4, she shared a pic of herself smiling from a hospital bed, writing that she had “a bit of the c word”. Later, she posted that she had 2 surgeries. Weezer, including Shriner, went ahead with its Coachella performance on Saturday the 12th.
Foreigner – An upcoming September reissue of 1981’s “4” album will include a newly completed song with original singer Lou Gramm. Bassist Jeff Pilson said the unfinished song ‘Fool If You Love Him’ was unearthed, “and Lou had sung one verse…and the chorus.” After the band called him, Gramm “wrote and finished 2 verses and sang them.” He also added cowbell.

John Lennon — A new documentary about him will debut at the Cine International Film Festival in London on May 9. “Borrowed Time: Lennon’s Last Decade”, from director Alan G. Parker, explores Lennon’s post-Beatles career using archival footage and never-before-seen interviews, including with Yoko Ono, Paul McCartney, and Lennon himself.
Bon Jovi – They haven’t toured since 2022, but are set to perform at a 3-day event in Nashville this June. Here’s the thing: the cheapest single tickets are priced at $1,750.00.
