A one-stop spot for those new to our area, and it’s all virtual.
The ‘Welcome to Western Nova Scotia’ app is available for download, and is the first of its kind in Atlantic Canada.
It was developed in partnership with the Western Regional Enterprise Network and Welcome Platform Technologies.
Communications coordinator Wade Cleveland calls it a game-changer.
“It helps make sure newcomers can find information they need so they can integrate and navigate life in this community, and it makes our community that much more welcoming,” said Cleveland.
It also connects newcomers to local businesses, and even features exclusive deals.
Cleveland says they’re encouraging all businesses to be on board.
There’s links for healthcare, childcare, education and more.
And there’s a translate function. It’s available for download on Apple and Google Play.
