A popular spot in the Town of Yarmouth will soon feature Pride colours.
Council voted to have the colours of the rainbow flag painted at the gazebo in Beacon Park.
It was part of a recommendation from the town’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
Mayor Pam Mood says this is just a first step.
“We want this to be a safe town for every minority group, or any group that’s trying to raise awareness. There are many different groups, not just within town but the entire country. We want to make sure everyone feels safe,” said Mayor Mood.
The committee also requested the Frost Park gazebo and walkway to town hall be painted.
Mood says they want to make sure all groups are represented.
Painting should begin in the Spring.
