Spreading Christmas cheer in Clare.
For the third straight year, free turkey dinners are being served on Christmas Eve Day in Saulnierville.
A group led by the Clare Share Fridge Communautaire helps gather food donations, the goal this year is to serve 650 meals.
President Shane Robicheau says it helps those who need it most.
“People that are alone, in seniors complexes, people who can’t access us, so we’re providing free transportation as well,” said Robicheau.
He says they also deliver for those with mobility challenges.
Robicheau says it’s grown from 250 meals the first year, as food insecurity continues to rise.
He says it’s open to everyone at the Sacred Heart Parish Hall from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Clare Share Fridge Communautaire is a non-profit organization that runs a free pantry system in the area.
