Work continues on Barrington’s new recreation centre.
The project is being built next to the Sandy Wickens Arena on Sherose Island.
Work has been ongoing since the spring.
Barrington warden Shaun Hatfield shares an update on when they hope to open it.
“We’ve had a couple of delays, it’s put the project off by a month or two. We’re looking to open by July, 2025,” said Hatfield.
The new $8.9 million centre will feature a new multi-purpose room, walking track and recreation spaces.
“Recreation helps with the overall health of the community, physically and mentally. We are looking forward to seeing this project come to fruition.”
Paving is taking place at the site this week.
