Not much change at the Yarmouth town council table.
Mayor Pam Mood was elected for the fourth straight time in Saturday’s municipal elections.
She defeated first-time runner Gurdeep Brar by 106 votes.
Mood says she had fun connecting with people during the campaign.
“We knocked on over 2,000 doors, because people won’t always find me at town hall to answer questions and raise concerns. We had some amazing conversations at the door,” said Mood.
She says advocating for provincial issues is a big focus.
“Things like housing, healthcare and mental health. I’m a huge fan of connections and building relationships. I have the network to do that, and I will continue that work.”
Voter turnout was just over 46 percent, Kelley Bishara-Lacroix was elected as councillor for the first time.
She will take Heather Hatfield’s seat, who did not re-offer.
Steve Berry, Wade Cleveland, Gil Dares, Derek Lesser and Belle Hatfield will all return.
