The Acadian Museum in Pubnico is going green.
The province says solar panels and heat pumps will be installed through a $98,000 grant at the Musée des Acadiens des Pubnicos.
Argyle MLA Colton LeBlanc says the museum preserves and protects artifacts and supports Acadian culture.
“Some of their artifacts are climate sensitive, depending on different temperatures and humidity, so the heat pumps will help with that. And the solar panels will help them improve their carbon footprint,” said LeBlanc.
Elaine Surette with the Société Historique Acadienne de Pubnico Ouest says the upgrades are much needed, and will bring the site in line with the province’s emission goals.
