A pre-trial is coming up for a man accused of starting the largest wildfire in Nova Scotia’s history.
Dalton Clark Stewart of Villagedale, Shelburne County has yet to appear in Provincial Court.
His pre-trial is scheduled for Wednesday in Barrington, where the massive fire began in late-May, 2023.
The wildfire burned dozens of homes and structures, and led to evacuations throughout the county.
Stewart is facing three charges under the Forests Act, including lighting a fire on privately owned land without permission, failing to take reasonable efforts to prevent the spread of a fire, and leaving a fire unattended.
His main trial is set for November 27 and 28.
