Nova Scotia Power wants to help Florida through Hurricane Milton.
The state reached out, and asked for as many crew members as they could spare.
NS Power Storm Lead Matt Drover says a team of 35 left Monday.
“Power line technicians, mechanics, safety personnel and logistics, we have a really solid team heading down there to help with restoration,” said Drover.
The group will stay on the Georgia county line until it’s safe for them to enter Florida.
Drover says many crews from the area helped us during Hurricane Fiona, and this is a way of giving back.
“We had hundreds of crews here from all over Canada. This is our part to return that favour, to send these volunteers, who we are very proud of, to go down there and help with restoration efforts.”
