A hot start for the Halifax Mooseheads.
The team is 4-1 on the young Q-league season, all games have been played on the road.
Head Coach Andrew Lord says the process is just as important for his young squad.
“We had a really good training camp for about a month, just trying to get everyone on the same page. The boys have been great with the culture. We’re just trying to get better everyday, and it’s showed with some consistent performances,” said Lord.
He adds his team is solid, but they’re striving to get better as the schedule gets busier.
The Mooseheads won their first four games, including wins over Maritimes Division favourites Cape Breton and Moncton.
Lord was asked if his young team has surprised some people.
“I’m not too sure, I don’t pay much attention to that to be honest. I just know it’s only five games, and there are 59 more. There’s a lot of work ahead of us.”
The Mooseheads play their home opener Friday night against Quebec.
Lord says they’re excited to get going in front of their home crowd.
