The MP for West Nova handed out some hardware.
The first annual MP Community Leadership Awards were given out to 20 individuals and groups on Saturday in Digby.
Chris d’Entremont says it was about recognizing the contributions of many who call West Nova home.
“We’re able to touch each corner of West Nova, we had a lot of different individuals and organizations, and I thought the recipients were really well thought out,” said d’Entremont.
He says the recipients were submitted by people who noticed the good deeds in the riding.
“Many aren’t looking for accolades, but we were able to take these nominations and surprise them with these awards.”
d’Entremont says there will be another ceremony next year.
