You’ll be able to take part in the CIBC Run for the Cure locally.
The event that raises money for breast cancer research is happening in Yarmouth County on October 6.
It coincides with the big event happening in Halifax.
Nicole d’Entremont is the co-chair, and a cancer survivor.
“We’re the lucky ones to be with other people that share that common chapter in our books. We can relate to each other, have fun and raise money for the cause, and those who are still fighting,” said d’Entremont.
There have been private runs in the past, but this is the first year Yarmouth is hosting it under the CIBC banner.
d’Entremont says they’re hoping for a big turnout.
“The last few private runs we had 100-150 people. We’re hoping to double that for this event, and in the years to follow it can get bigger and bigger.”
It starts at Par-en-Bas school in Tusket at 11 a.m, registration is an hour before.
