A tender is out for Yarmouth’s new emergency department.
Argyle MLA Colton LeBlanc says it will be open until October 31.
The new department at the hospital will double in size, have more access to critical care and more ambulance space.
LeBlanc says it’s important to make sure people are getting the care they need.
“It’s really exciting for our community and all of southwestern Nova Scotia. It will support the recruitment and retention of healthcare workers, and make sure our residents are getting the best care possible,” said LeBlanc.
The new department will also have two triage spaces, 10 individual exam rooms, eight observation rooms and more.
LeBlanc says it’s an important project, and they want to get it done as quickly as possible.
