Services at Digby General Hospital will not be changing.
Online rumours of a closure of ambulatory services like IV’s and blood transfusions led to a peaceful demonstration outside the hospital on Saturday.
Some patients received a letter saying appointments can be made at ambulatory clinics in Middleton and Annapolis
Digby-Annapolis MLA Jill Balser says she spoke directly with Nova Scotia Health for clarity.
“Another important point, is that if folks still want to go to the Digby emergency department, they still can if that is their preferred choice,” said Balser.
Balser says it’s important that accurate information is being shared.
She says having the Digby ER administer these services is not ideal, but conversations are happening on a solution.
