I got the chance to attend Airshow Atlantic over the weekend!
For my first Airshow in over 10 years, and first in Nova Scotia, I wasn’t sure what to expect… but man was I blown Away! I remember going to airshows as a kid, my family would head down to the lakeshore in Toronto, set up some chairs, and prepare for a loud few hours. This airshow was exactly that and so much more!
This one had static displays, aircraft parked on the pavement you could get an up close and personal look at! Some aircraft, including military, civil, and policing – spectators were allowed inside!
I initially arrived late on day one, but was welcome to a very VERY big surprise, The aircraft being flown were parked close, and they were LOUD when they started up!
But it wasn’t all loud and big aircraft, there was a glider doing loops, helicopters doing mock operations, and more!
Of course, your RCAF Snowbirds were there! I caught the full show on the second day and they were just as good, if not better than I remember them from when I was a kid!
At the end of the second day, they stayed behind with the Red Arrows, signing autographs and taking pictures with fans, so of course I took advantage of that! Which reminds me, the red Arrows! they put on an Amazing show, all of which started with a very special pass with Canada’s CF-18 Demonstration team to celebrate 100 years of the RCAF!
Airshow Atlantic was truly a memorable experience for me, something I intend on checking out again next year!
