That gives our country 19 medals, including six gold.
Andre De Grasse finished third in the semifinals of the men’s 200 metres, and will not qualify for the final.
Melissa Humana-Paredes and Brandie Wilkerson won their women’s beach volleyball quarterfinal, and will play for a medal.
Canada has never medaled in the sport.
This morning, Nova Scotian duo Riley Melanson and Michelle Russell raced in the women’s K-1 500 metres and advanced to the semifinals.
Brooke Henderson shot a two-over 74 in the opening round of women’s golf.
