Nova Scotia is recognizing the first ever Acadian Heritage Month.
The Acadian flag will be raised at Province House.
Premier Tim Houston says there’s a rich history in our province.
“With the Congres Mondial Acadian coming up, this is huge. When I talk to Nova Scotians about the size and scale of this event, it blows people away,” said the Premier.
He says he plans to take part in events during the Congres from August 10-18 in Yarmouth, Clare, Argyle and Barrington.
“We’ll put on a good show and welcome lots of visitors, but the recognition of the history is really important.”
National Acadian Day is on August 15.
