Three more years for the Head Coach and General Manager of the Yarmouth Mariners.
Laurie Barron has signed a contract extension to remain in the position.
He says Yarmouth is home.
“My kids were raised here. It’s really special to have the other owners commit for me to be back. I’m super excited, and looking forward to what’s coming up,” said Barron.
Barron has won the MHL Coach of the Year Award three times, and has led the Mariners to two championships in the last six seasons.
He says the offseason is going well, and excitement is building for the start of training camp next month.
“I thought our draft was great, our scouts did a great job stocking our shelves and getting a lot of great young talent.”
The Mariners have been busy in the offseason, on Monday they acquired defenseman Lucas Boisvert, who played in the QMJHL with Quebec the last two seasons.
Barron says more announcements are expected ahead of next month’s training camp.
