Justin Trudeau has found a new labour minister.
Government House leader Steven MacKinnon will take over the role from Seamus O’Regan, who stepped down from cabinet yesterday.
O’Regan will not seek re-election, but will remain as an MP.
The Prime Minister says MacKinnon is a committed member of the Liberal Party, and brings experience in labour negotiations.
He says Karina Gould will soon return to the Government House leader role, she’s been off on maternity leave.
Congratulations to @StevenMacKinnon, Canada’s new Minister of Labour and Seniors.
