Yarmouth’s biggest festival is almost here.
The 46th annual Seafest begins on Thursday and runs until Sunday July 27.
President Darryl LeBlanc says the official opening ceremony will be Friday in Frost Park.
“At 1:15 p.m, the Mayor’s Picnic in the Park is happening in Frost Park. The Children’s Parade will be held around the Park this year on the sidewalk, that’s for insurance and safety reasons,” said LeBlanc.
The Roaring 20’s Antique Auto car show will be held Saturday on Main Street, LeBlanc says they’re thankful the club always hosts this during the festival.
LeBlanc says it’s one of the longest running festivals in the province.
“We didn’t stop during COVID, and everyone looks forward to it each year. It has changed over the years, but it’s still Seafest, and we hope to continue it for another 46 years.”
He says they began planning last September.
Last year’s paddle boat races on Lake Milo were a success, so they’re coming back this year.
