Y-CON is getting bigger and better.
The Yarmouth Gaming and Comics convention took place at the Mariners Centre this past weekend.
It was the biggest weekend the con has ever had.
It moved from a smaller venue to take over the floor in Arena 1.
Kristen Fowler of Undercover Dragon says it’s impossible to not find people with similar interests.
“The thing with a small town, we’re all tight knit but we always don’t ask questions about our interests. It’s so important to have this for a sense of community, and I’m so fortunate to be here in a time where Yarmouth is getting it,” said Fowler.
She says Y-CON holds an important place in the community for people of all ages and interests.

The events also included a cosplay runway, special guests and a Mario Kart tournament involving local politicians.
Yarmouth MLA Zach Churchill was fourth in a close race but says it was in good fun.
“Most importantly it was a lot of fun, and all the money went to a good cause, the Gilles Boudreau and Friends Cancer Help Fund,” said Churchill.
Local organizer Nick Doucet finished first place, followed by municipal councillor Nick Hilton and Argyle MLA Colton LeBlanc.
Over 40 vendors were involved in this year’s event.
