Tax rates are staying the same again in the Municipality of the District of Yarmouth.
The residential rate is holding steady at $1.18 per $100 of assessment, and the commercial rate is $2.17.
Tax rates have not moved since 2020.
Warden John Cunningham says they’re also unveiling a target inflation relief program for middle-income earners.
“That will be available to all residents making up to $79,999,” said Cunningham.
More details will be released in the coming weeks, it’s meant for those who don’t qualify for the Low-Income Exemption.
The municipality says they’re making investments in programs and infrastructure to improve the lives of citizens.
That includes over $700,000 in regional projects like the new Jumpstart Multi-Sport Court and the track-and-field facility in Tusket.
“When other areas across Yarmouth County have large projects, we’re more than happy to help out. It means there will be more things to do across our municipality and the entire area.”
