Portapique’s new community centre is about to open its doors.
The province announced funding for the centre, which will provide a cultural hub for the area and help in the healing journey.
Premier Tim Houston was at the centre Friday, one day before its grand opening on June 1.
He says they’ll continue to honour the legacy of those who were lost in the 2020 mass shooting.
The province gave funding to the Municipality of the County of Colchester for five years of operating costs, and a strategic plan.
The new centre also addresses multiple recommendations from the Mass Casualty Commission’s final report.
