Nova Scotia’s New Democrats held their annual convention.
Leader Claudia Chender was joined by federal NDP leader Jagmeet Singh in Halifax for the event.
Chender talked about their approach to building housing options faster.
“We talked about how pre-fabricated building methods can help with that speed, and we need to make sure people can afford to live in those houses,” said Chender.
She also talked about a renters tax credit and expanding the down payment assistance program, as many young people with good jobs don’t see themselves buying a home.
Chender says they’re feeling good about the next provincial election, and they’ve been recruiting candidates and fundraising.
She says all Nova Scotians need to be included in the growth of the province.
“We need to make sure this is a future where all Nova Scotians can thrive.”
What a phenomenal weekend! Thank you to New Democrats who came together at Convention. We are building to win in 2025 and the momentum from Claudia, our speakers, and delegates was palpable.
