A fire at an apartment building in Digby is out.
Firefighters from Annapolis to Weymouth responded just after 4 a.m. Friday to the blaze on Water Street.
Digby fire chief Robert Morgan says there were no injuries.
“The Red Cross was here finding placements for everyone, finding food and clothing and essentials that they may need,” said Morgan.
He says the fire started in the corner of a bedroom apartment.
Morgan says the building is being demolished, so expect delays in the area throughout the day.
There were street closures on Water Street from Church to Prince William streets, and First Avenue from Church to Prince William.
Morgan says the fire departments worked well together.
“We had about 18 trucks, six departments and 70 or 80 firefighters. It really comes together nicely with the mutual aid.”
