A dozen doctors will be in place in Clare this spring.
The Clare Health Centre is expanding, and will give more people in Digby County access to a family doctor.
It’s part of a partnership between the Municipality of Clare and Nova Scotia Health.
Clare Warden Yvon LeBlanc says it’s great news.
“They’ll be able to take on 4,000 extra patients over the next 2 years. The new space is around 8,000 square feet, so they’ll have lots of room to work,” said LeBlanc.
An updated agreement will see NS Health give the municipality a monthly grant for operations at the centre.
The expansion is expected to be completed this summer.
