Fire forced a family of 10 out of their Yarmouth County home.
It happened in Sluice Point yesterday afternoon before 4.
A mother and nine children are being assisted by the Red Cross.
Eel Brook Fire Chief Jonathan LeBlanc says the initial crews that arrived extinguished the fire.
“The bulk of the fire was contained to one room with smoke damage in an adjoining room, and some water damage from suppressing the fire. It was a great save by the Islands and District Fire Department,” said LeBlanc.
Islands and District had assistance from the Amirault’s Hill, Hubbards Point and Eel Brook departments.
