The Yarmouth Mariners season has come to an end.
They lost 2-1 to the host Portage Terriers in their Centennial Cup quarterfinal Friday night.
Yarmouth went down 2-0, allowing two power-play goals.
Franco Canevari made it 2-1 in the second period, thanks to a bounce off a Terrier player into his own net.
The Mariners outshot Portage 14-5 in the third period, throwing everything they could at goaltender Bailey Monteith, who made 36 saves.
Keegan Warren was excellent for Yarmouth with 29 saves.
The Mariners finish the season top 6 in the CJHL and got their first ever win at the Centennial Cup in Wednesday’s preliminary round game against Terrebonne.
Yarmouth made history as the only team in MHL history to go 12-0 in the playoffs and won their third championship in franchise history.
