I went to the ECMA award show this weekend in Halifax and let me just say, The Maritimes know how to play the tunes! I heard so many great bands and artists. One of my favorites was Adam Baldwin. He released his new album Concertos and Serenades last year and it has been doing very well. It’s a number of folk/ rock story songs that are mixed with fiction and Nova Scotia fact! One of my favorites from the album is a faster tune called Good Gracious. And after listening to if a few times I heard a farmiler place name! Shelburne!
In the song a fictional man try’s to escape Shelburne police after a botched gas station robbery. Have a listen to the tune below.
I would highly suggest checking out his whole album it’s a automatic classic in my eyes! The songs are timeless and I think everyone in Nova Scotia and behind will get something out of the clever lyrics and music on every track. Do you know any other songs that mention the Tri Counties?
