The Southwest Storm won the Maritime Junior C Championship.
They beat the Tri-County River Cats 3-2 on a penalty shot in overtime of yesterday’s championship game in Charlottetown.
Brady Nickerson took the shot, and made no mistake to give the Storm their first ever Maritime title.
Nickerson had two goals on the day, Zach D’Arcy had the other, and Tyson Peters made 50 saves.
A couple of weeks ago, the team out of Barrington won the Nova Scotia Regional Junior Hockey League for the second straight year.
