Good morning !
Yes it’s ” Tick Season”
I personally think Ticks are with us year round , people are finding them on their pets all rear and not just in the spring.
As a teen I thought that ticks were less plentiful in the summer because of the heat and same for the winter and the cold. It seems there is less grass burning these days leading to more ticks, of coarse with less grass burning there are more tick nests surviving .
When I was a teen I worked for a company planting trees , ticks were a daily thing and never really felt too concerned, we would pick 100’s off each others Doe Skin Jackets Daily !
At that time we never worried about what the ticks carried .
Today we concern ourselves with the Lyme Disease that is associated with Ticks .
There are several kinds of ticks in Nova Scotia, but only the blacklegged tick carries the bacteria and virus that cause tick borne diseases, such as Lyme disease.
