A freezing rain warning remains in effect in Halifax, Lunenburg and Queens counties, along with the Valley.
Schools in the Halifax, Chignecto-Central and Annapolis Valley Regional Centres for Education will delay opening by two hours.
Also, schools in Guysborough and Antigonish Town and County are closed, and schools in Lunenburg county.
Environment Canada says it’s expected to change to rain as temperatures rise this morning.
According to Nova Scotia 511, many roads in the Valley especially were partly covered with ice overnight.
There are also a couple of power outages this morning, one affecting the Truro/Bible Hill area, the other in the Valley near Canning.
All HRCE schools will delay opening by 2 hours today, Thurs., April 6. Bused students will be picked up 2 hours later than regular time, lunch and dismissal will be at regular times, and EXCEL programs are canceled for the morning only. Due to icy road conditions all schools in Lunenburg County are closed today, Thursday, April 6,2023. Schools in Queens County will remain open, as well as all, offices and worksites in Lunenburg County.
