Charges against a former elementary school principal were withdrawn Friday in Yarmouth Provincial Court because of his death.
Fifty-two year old Mark Alexander Thornton was charged with sexual exploitation and sexual assault in July.
The offence dated back over 20 years.
Thornton died last Monday.
He had been placed on administrative leave from his job as principal of Plymouth School.
