The Yarmouth Mariners roster is set for the rest of the season.
The league-leaders added forward Nathan Kelly from Fredericton, and traded the rights to Eli Reimer to Campbellton for draft picks.
Head Coach and GM Laurie Barron says he was making calls ahead of last night’s trade deadline.
“The league this year, with so many teams still in the mix, there wasn’t a lot of moves made. If it would have made sense for us, we would have done something. But we’re very happy with our club going forward,” says Barron.
The Mariners have a nine point lead on Truro for first place in their division.
Co-captain Kieran Burke says they’re looking to continue their strong play into the playoffs in March.
“We have a lot of guys that were on the team last year, so they know what it felt like to lose in the first round. To add the guys that want to win, I think we’ve got a good group with us. I’m really excited to see what the playoffs are going to bring,” says Burke.
Yarmouth will play in Amherst tomorrow night, then host the Ramblers on Saturday and South Shore on Sunday.
