Good Morning !
It’s just a few days till Christmas and if you have a Real Christmas tree that’s been up now for a bit over a week or more is it still ” Drinking” water ? Not huge amounts but at least a cup per day or so ? Over the years that I have had Real Christmas Trees I have tried different things in the water of my tree to prolong the dreaded Spill of Spills from the tree or just keep it healthy enough to retain it’s green and keep the fur needles intact for a longer period of time.
Our favorite home maker Martha Stewart suggests
- Put the tree in water as soon as possible. Remember: You’re bringing home a live plant. …
- Trim the trunk. …
- Water, water, water (and maybe try additives). …
- Be cautious of heat sources including lights.
Martha says “Christmas trees are like flowers—there’s only so long they’ll last, even under the perfect care. You’ll know your tree has reached the end of its life when it begins to dry out, stiffen, and drop needles .”Here are some other useful tips TIPS TO A HEALTHY CHRISTMAS TREEI have tried some pretty weird things over the years to prolong the tree on the advise ” Ill or Otherwise ” from family & friends.
1. Put sugar in the Tree water
2. add Aspirin to the Tree Water
3. Add some Molasses to the Tree Water
Those are just a couple of the so called home fixes for your Christmas tree to live longer and healthy .
