Both Nova Scotian teams are off to the championship pool of the Canadian Senior Curling Championship in Yarmouth.
Theresa Breen’s women’s squad finished the round-robin at the top of their pool with a 5-1 record, and will next face B.C. at 12:30 today.
The men’s team also finished 5-1, as Glen MacLeod’s rink defeated Yukon 7-4 last night.
He says it feels great to finish first in their group.
“We were really focused on playing a solid game tonight, and we did. Our game-plan really worked in our favour, and it’s great to finish 5-1,” says MacLeod.
The men’s team will take on New Brunswick this afternoon.
MacLeod says it’s great to represent the province in Nova Scotia.
“We love the hometown crowd and being the home team. There were a lot of kids here this morning making lots of noise. It’s been great.”
