Jocelyn Parlee and Jeff Scott Gray make up JJ Roots.
After Hurricane Fiona postponed their original concert, alternative music duo JJ Roots are coming to the Tri-Counties.
They’ll be playing at the Salle Pere-Maurice-LeBlanc Theatre in Tusket this Friday.
Jeff Scott Gray and Jocelyn Parlee make up JJ Roots. Gray discussed their backgrounds in music.
“Our backgrounds are very diverse,” says Gray. “Jocelyn’s background is country and classical, and my background is rock and metal, with a little bit of acoustic guitar thrown in. Our style is all over the map.”
Their first album was folk Americana with notes of country, rock and pop.
In Tusket, they’ll be performing songs from their new second album, Euphoria.
Parlee says the album is a contemporary roots style.
“Jeff and I sort of really changed our stylings I think and kind of opened ourselves up to different kinds of instruments, the piano being one which really helped us to write an album like Euphoria.” says Parlee.
The duo spent two years developing Euphoria.
The concert on Friday will feature Richard and Sue as the opener.
