Fire destroyed a home in West Pubnico this morning.
Firefighters were called to the scene on Sams Road just after 4 o’clock.
West Pubnico Fire Department Chief Gordon Amiro says the fire was in one corner of the house, but quickly spread.
No one was home at the time of the blaze, and Amiro says the cause likely won’t be known, as it wasn’t safe for firefighters to enter the building.
Departments from East Pubnico, Barrington/Port Latour, Woods Harbour/Shag Harbour, Eel Brook and Lake Vaughan provided mutual aid.
An excavator is on scene tearing down what’s left of the building.
