Changes are coming to municipal boundaries in Argyle.
Council will ask the public if they want to keep the nine district system with moderate changes, or reduce to seven districts, with significant alterations.
Public consultations last month were poorly attended, and council says they don’t have enough information to make a decision.
Warden Danny Muise says staff will now determine what the districts would look like.
“Regardless of whether it’s seven or nine districts, the boundaries will have to change. We will have to evenly distribute the electors as much as we can,” says Muise.
Each district must be within ten per cent of the average total electors, and five of the districts currently fall outside that category.
There are over 6,600 electors in Argyle, about 350 more than 2014.
A final recommendation to the Utility and Review Board is due by the end of the year.
