A Digby County woman was surprised to find out she won a big lotto prize.
Sherry McNeil of Weymouth won a Daily Grand second prize worth $500,000 last month.
In a release from the Atlantic Lottery Corporation, McNeil says she was dog-sitting at her sister’s house, and checked her ALC app.
She initially saw she won two dollars on Poker Lotto, but then scrolled down and saw her winning numbers for the Daily Grand.
As soon as she verified it, she says it wasn’t long before she started hollering with excitement.
McNeil says her husband is close to retirement, and she’ll be working for a few more years.
She says she’s looking forward to extra security for retirement, completing some house renovations and maybe taking a trip down south.
