More scorching temperatures over the coming days as Nova Scotia is officially under another heatwave.
Environment Canada issued the warning for the entire province on Wednesday afternoon.
The forecaster says humidex values will reach between 36 and 40 through Friday.
“Make sure you can find somewhere cool to go if you do need to be outside and try and avoid those really warm temperatures in the afternoon,” Enrionment Canada meteorologist Jill Mapea tells our newsroom.
Overnight lows aren’t expected to go below 18 degrees.
It’s important to keep an eye on your hydration when temperatures are this hot, Maepea says.
“You may not think you’re perspiring or sweating, but it’s always better to have some extra water to hydrate more during these heat waves just because it can creep up on you,” Maepea explains.
Maepea stressed to never leave children or pets in the car when it’s hot out, even if it’s just for a moment.
