Nova Scotia Liberal Party leadership candidate Zach Churchill doesn’t think the Houston government is following the advise of public health anymore.
The Yarmouth MLA is sharing his reaction to the province deciding to remove all remaining COVID-19 restrictions on Wednesday.
He says their inexperience is showing with how they’re navigating the situation.
“It’s not because we need all these restrictions right now, I don’t know that we do, but at the very least the public needs to be aware of the situation and have information so they can make their own decisions.”
The province announced that COVID-19 data reports will now be released monthly instead of weekly.
Churchill says Nova Scotians should have as much information as possible to make their own decisions.
“People are feeling over COVID-19, they don’t want to live with restrictions, but I also think the government should be informing people so they can make their own decisions with what they’re doing.”
Churchill held the role of health and wellness minister, during the third wave of COVID-19, under the previous Liberal government.
