Yarmouth’s Jared Purdy is now the permanent Regional Executive Director of Education for our region.
The Tri-County Regional Centre for Education made the announcement last week that Purdy would remain in the role.
The former director of programs and services and principal at Yarmouth Central became the acting director last October.
He says it’s a role that he’s very comfortable with.
“I’m very accustomed to the community, we have a great team here at the office and the bulk of the team is intact. It’s a role I’m looking forward to moving into full time, and moving the system forward,” says Purdy.
Purdy says he and staff at the centre will be looking at data this summer to determine how students are performing as we come out of the pandemic.
“I’m heavily committed to being in this role for years to come. I’m hopeful down the road we can talk about how much we’ve grown as a system and how Tri-County is one of the leaders in the province.”
