We’re learning more about how the CAT’s season is going so far.
Bay Ferries is out with an update on the Nova Scotia to Maine ferry service.
In a release, they say as of yesterday tickets have been sold for about 15,100 passengers, which Bay Ferries says is consistent with pre-pandemic historical patterns at this time of the season.
They expect sales to heat up during the summer, adding the CAT carries 65% of it’s volume in July and August.
However they say there are still factors impacting travel such as fuel prices, vaccine requirements and overall recovery from the pandemic.
So far the CAT has completed 12 round trips with no cancellations.
Bay Ferries plans to release similar reports at the end of each month.
The CAT set sail for the season, after three years out of service, on May 19th.
